Earning with Kalki
Kalki makes the video. Whether it earns anything depends on the channel you build around it. This page covers what platforms pay for, what they refuse to pay for, and how to set up a channel that can qualify.
Platform rules change every few months. Every figure below was checked in October 2026 against public reporting. Before you plan around a number, read the official page linked under it.
What platforms will and won't pay for
All the large platforms now separate AI as a tool from AI as a content farm.
- YouTube renamed its "repetitious content" policy to inauthentic content in July 2025. It targets mass-produced, template-driven videos. AI-assisted videos with a clear voice, original writing and real editing can still be monetized. Realistic synthetic content has to be disclosed when you upload.
- TikTok requires a visible AI label on realistic AI-generated visuals or audio. Unlabeled synthetic media can be suppressed or removed. Reports differ on how much Creator Rewards pays for AI-heavy videos, so expect less from fully generated clips than from ones with your own voice and ideas.
- Instagram and Facebook label AI content and pay little directly. Most Reels income comes from brands, not from Meta.
In practice, a channel that uploads 30 near-identical AI clips a day will be demonetized. A channel with a recognizable cast, a point of view and a human in the loop has a chance.
Thresholds to plan around

| YouTube | Partner Program, fan funding tier | 500 subscribers, 3 uploads in 90 days, plus 3,000 watch hours or 3 million Shorts views |
| TikTok | Creator Rewards | 18+, 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in 30 days, videos longer than one minute |
| Subscriptions | 10,000 followers on a professional account | |

Setting up a channel in Kalki
- Pick one niche you can speak to. The seeded channels show the shape: a defined audience, a language and a handful of opening hooks. Edit them or create your own under Channels.
- Write a real cast. Characters with soul documents (looks, voice, quirks, backstory) keep episodes consistent, and a recurring character is the strongest sign to a platform that a channel is not a template farm. Add reference images so the Animator keeps their look.
- Give every reel an idea. The prompt is your contribution. "A story about saving money" is a template. "Aryan learns his chai habit costs more than his phone bill" is an episode.
- Review before you post. Watch the result, fix the title and description in the Library, and throw away weak ones. Upload by hand.
- Turn on the AI disclosure every time: YouTube's altered or synthetic content setting, TikTok's AI label, Meta's AI info label. Kalki also tags the file itself.
- Post on a schedule you can keep up with. One good reel a day per channel is a better plan than ten weak ones.
For TikTok's Creator Rewards, set the reel length above one minute in Generate.
Where the money usually comes from
Platform payouts for Shorts and Reels are small per view. Most creators who earn from short video combine several of these:
- Ad revenue share from YouTube once the channel is in the Partner Program.
- Brand sponsorships. A niche channel with an engaged audience can sell a mention or a dedicated episode. Disclose paid partnerships with each platform's branded-content tool.
- Affiliate links in descriptions and bios, for products the channel's audience actually uses.
- Making reels for others. Local businesses, coaches and small brands pay for steady short-form content. Kalki on your own machine is the production line, and you sell the creative direction. Make sure your client knows the footage is AI-generated.
- Fan funding through memberships, Super Thanks, subscriptions and gifts once the audience exists.
Know your costs
You pay each provider for what Kalki uses: Gemini for writing, Stability for images, ElevenLabs for voice, Seedance or Kling for video. Video generation is usually the largest line. Before scaling up, generate ten reels, read the usage pages in each provider's console, and divide by ten. That is your cost per reel, and every income plan should start from it.
Things that get channels banned
- Reuploading or lightly remixing other people's videos, music or characters.
- Realistic depictions of real people, or of events that did not happen, presented as real.
- Hiding that content is AI-generated.
- Running many channels with the same template to farm views.
- Misleading health, finance or news claims.
Kalki's responsible-use rules exist to keep you clear of all of these.
